Foram anunciados ontem, em cerimônia realizada em Los Angeles, os vencedores do Directors Guild of America Awards 2006, prêmio dado pela Associação dos Diretores Americanos, formada por aproximadamente 12.800 membros.

A categoria de Melhor Direção Série Drama foi vencida pela polêmica "Roma", que conseguiu superar fortes concorrentes como "House", "Six Feet Under" e "Grey's Anatomy", que foi indicada com dois episódios.

Já o episódio piloto da estreante "My Name Is Earl", levou o prêmio de Melhor Direção Série Comédia, batendo o episódio ao vivo da veterana "Will & Grace" e dois episódios de "Segura a Onda".

E houve um empate na nova categoria de Melhor Direção Reality Show, vencida por "Fear Factor" e a já cancelada "Three Wishes".
