"The Wire"

Com 10 indicações, a HBO é o canal líder de indicações ao Television Critics Association Awards 2008.

Liderando a disputa pelo canal está a temporada final do drama "The Wire", que foi indicado a Programa do Ano e Melhor Drama, além do Prêmio Patrimônio da TV, dado aos programas que fizeram história na televisão americana. Além disso, o produtor executivo de "The Wire", David Simon, também recebeu uma indicação individual na categoria de Melhor Performance Drama.

A série estreante "Mad Men", do pequeno canal pago americano AMC, conseguiu quatro indicações, incluindo Melhor Drama, Programa do Ano, Melhor Programa Estreante e Melhor Performance Drama, para Jon Hamm.

Além de "The Wire" e "Mad Men", os indicados a Programa do Ano foram "Lost" (ABC), "John Adams" (HBO) e "The War" (PBS).

Na categoria de Melhor Drama, a disputa será entre "Damages" (FX), "Friday Night Lights" (NBC), "Lost", "Mad Men" e "The Wire".

Já os indicados a Melhor Comédia são "30 Rock" (NBC), "The Office" (NBC), "The Colbert Report" (Comedy Central), "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" (Comedy Central) e "Flight of the Conchords" (HBO).

Os vencedores do TCA Awards são escolhidos através dos votos de mais de 200 jornalistas e críticos de tv, e a cerimônia de premiação será realizada no dia 19 de julho em Los Angeles, no Beverly Hilton.
